Renting a Pavilion With Washtenaw County Parks

Rental availability begins at midnight on October 1 for the following year. 
Pavilions are for use on a rental basis only. Pavilion Applications can be downloaded or mailed upon request. Pavilions are rented on a first come first served basis, and can not be reserved without a completed application and full payment of rental fees (cash/credit).

Reserve Pavilion Online

  • An email confirmation will be sent to you confirming your rental date. If your requested date has already been reserved, we will call you immediately to find an alternative shelter or date.
  • Cancellation Policy
    Cancellations must be submitted in writing, and refunds will only be issued if the space is reserved by another party, minus a $10 processing fee.

General Pavilion Rules

  • All pavilions must be vacated 1 hour prior to the park closing.
  • During emergency weather conditions, the pavilions may be used as shelter for other patrons in the park.
  • There is no parking at the pavilions.
  • Pets are not allowed at the pavilions.
  • Parking space is not guaranteed with pavilion rental.

Rolling Hills County Park Pavilions

• Online Reservations only
• Alcohol permits are included with your online reservation with renter's acknowledgement of alcohol use policies
• With the exception of the Great Room, pavilions do not have electricity
• Vehicle admission fee is not included with rental fees

• Seats 80
• Group-size picnic grill
• Next to playground and sand volleyball court
• Next to mowed playfield and permanent restrooms

Family Unit BFamily Units A & B - $30
• Seat 8-10
• 1 picnic table and picnic grill
• 2 units available near Prairie Pavilion; a few steps from the park lot.
• A short walk to the water park

Woodlands PavilionWoodland Pavilion - $125
• Seats 80
• Group-size picnic grill
• Located on edge of wood lot overlooking pond
• Offers the most privacy of all pavilions

Prairie PavilionPrairie Pavilion - $250
• Seats 200
• Group-size picnic grill
• Adjacent to large parking area
• Next to mowed playfield
• Short walk to water park and permanent restrooms

Starling - $125 (Will be available online for rental once construction is complete in Spring 2024)
• Seats 50
• Group-size picnic grill and 8 picnic tables
• Located just outside the water park, along the Southeast fence line
• Very near parking and permanent restrooms

Dogwood - $125 (Will be available online for rental once construction is complete in Spring 2024)
• Seats 50
• Group-size picnic grill and 8 picnic tables
• Located just outside the water park, along the Southeast fence line
• Very near parking and permanent restrooms


Independence Lake County Park Pavilions

• Reserve Online or Pavilion Application will be accepted starting the first business day in October at 8:30 a.m. at the park office. Applications can be submitted in-person, by mail, by email (independencelake@washtenaw.org) and by fax.
• All pavilions located inside Blue Heron Bay are not permitted to have outside food and beverage

Beach Center Pavilion 1Beach Center - $150
• Located at the center of many park activities, next to the main office with a first aid station and running water bathrooms. 
• Holds 120 people roughly 15 picnic tables. This is based on 8 people to a picnic table.
• Scenic view of the lake and a short walk to the swimming area. 
• Amenities include a group-size barbecue grill, horseshoe pits, electricity, outdoor string lighting, and barn doors to close off doorways for privacy and inclement weather. 
• Next to first aid station and running water bathrooms.
• Often rented with Meeting Room. 

Meeting Room 2021 bMeeting Room - $100
• Indoor meeting space that is connected to main beach center office building with a first aid station and running water bathrooms.
• Holds 35-40 people with 5 eight-foot-long tables, 2 six-foot-long tables and 2 three-foot round tables. This is based on 8 people to a picnic table.
• Amenities include air conditioning, heat, electricity, gas fireplace, and a large projection screen.
• Outside green space included behind the meeting room with a small grill and four picnic tables with umbrellas. 
• Great views of the lake and surrounding wooded area.
• Often rented with Beach Center. 

Indy Woods 2020Independence Woods - $100
•  Located on the edge of the park, set back in the wooded area with a view of the lake.
•  Holds 90 people at roughly 10 picnic tables. This is based on 8 people to a picnic table. 
•  Amenities include group-size barbecue grill, horseshoe pits, and vault bathrooms nearby.
•  There is no electricity or running water.
•  Roughly 150 yards to the main beach center office building with a first aid station and running water bathrooms.

Meadows Edge 2020Meadows Edge - $100
•  Located on a hill with a view of the lake with a children’s playground right next to it.
•  Holds 90 people at roughly 10 picnic tables. This is based on 8 people to a picnic table. 
•  Amenities include group-size barbecue grill, horseshoe pits, volleyball court, and vault bathrooms nearby.
•  There is no electricity or running water. 
•  A good distance from the main beach center office building with a first aid station and running water bathrooms. Near the paved path and parking lot. 

Maple and Willow
• $120 (Maple and Willow together) Seats 60 people at 14 picnic tables. This is based on 4 people to a picnic table.
• $70 (Maple or Willow) Seats 30 people at 7 picnic tables. This is based on 4 people to a picnic table.
• Located in Blue Heron Bay
• Direct view of spray pad area
• No electricity.
• No outside food or beverages allow, must purchase from concessions.
• Alcohol and smoking is NOT permitted at Blue Heron Bay Spray Park or Picnic Area. 
• Guest payment and group concession ordering available. 
• Close to running water bathrooms.

Oak or Hickory
• $180 (Oak and Hickory together) Seats 120 people at 20 picnic tables. This is based on 6 people to a picnic table.
• $100 (Maple or Willow) Seats 60 people at 10 picnic tables. This is based on 6 people to a picnic table.
• Located in Blue Heron Bay
• Direct over looks the green space.
• No electricity.
• No outside food or beverages allow, must purchase from concessions.
• Alcohol and smoking is NOT permitted at Blue Heron Bay Spray Park or Picnic Area. 
• Guest payment and group concession ordering available. 
• Close to running water bathrooms.

Gamble Group Center - $250
• Seats 180 people at 34 picnic tables. This is based on 6 people to a picnic table.
• Located in Blue Heron Bay
• Directly over looks pray pad area and the green space. All four pavilions combined: Maple, Willow, Hickory and Oak. 
• No electricity.
• No outside food or beverages allow, must purchase from concessions.
• Alcohol and smoking is NOT permitted at Blue Heron Bay Spray Park or Picnic Area. 
• Guest payment and group concession ordering available. 
• Close to running water bathrooms.

Blue Heron Bay Picnic Area - $50
• Seats 30 people at 4 picnic tables. This is based on 8 people to a picnic table.
• Located right outside Blue Heron Bay Spray Park, in open green space.
• Not a permanently covered area. Designated area created by a split rail fence. 
• No electricity.
• Outside food and beverages are allowed. 
• Alcohol and smoking is NOT permitted at Blue Heron Bay Spray Park or Picnic Area. 
• Amenities include a small grill, and each table has a table umbrella.
• Guest payment and group concession ordering available. 
• Close to running water bathrooms.
• Get a $10 discount when you rent a pavilion inside Blue Heron Bay along with the picnic area. 

IMG-7955Red Hawk Disc Golf Pavilion - $100
• Please Note: Not available to rent online. Please email Julie or Ashley at independencelake@washtenaw.org if interested in renting this pavilion. 
• Located at the Red Hawk Disc Golf Course. 
• Holds 64 people at 8 picnic tables. This is based on 8 people to a picnic table.
• Scenic view of the disc golf course woods.
• Across the road from the Blue Heron Bay office building with a first aid station and running water bathrooms.
• No electricity.
• Amenities include a porta-a-pottie, a group-size barbecue grill (coming soon), fireplace, overhead lighting, and a fourteen-foot countertop. 
• Green space with more picnic area right around the pavilion that includes several small grills and picnic tables. 
• Great for year-round disc golf tournaments. Pavilion automatically included in tournament package when hosting a disc golf tournament. 
• Ideal for three seasons gathering such as birthday parties, weddings, bridal and baby showers, graduation parties, family reunions, school and club reunions, and corporate meetings and events. 
• Please Note: This is a disc golf course so there will be discs flying, medal chain baskets making noises and disc golfs players walking past and using other green space picnic areas right around the pavilion.

• Near gravel path and a short walk from the parking lot
• Access to porta-john near the pavilion
